Our first guest is John Bielenberg, designer, entrepreneur, and imaginative advocate for a better world.

He is the founder of Project M, and co-founder of Future, Common, Thinknado, and 3rdActivist. 

John has won more than 250 design awards in his career, including the 2013 AIGA Gold Medal for leadership in the design for good movement. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art staged a solo exhibition of his work in 2000. He was most recently the Director of the Think Wrong Institute at the University of Kansas.

In 2016, John co-wrote a book called Think Wrong that inspires people to conquer the status quo and do work that matters.

Scott Starrett is co-founder and design director of the communication design studio, Tandem. He acts as a strategic communications advisor to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and he is an outspoken advocate for civic engagement & socially responsible design

Joanna Muñoz is a Los Angeles-based lettering artist, designer, and illustrator. In 2013, having worked as a designer and art director for almost a decade, she found herself wanting to step away from the computer and create things by hand again. Wink & Wonder was born from the desire to play and explore creatively and has since evolved into a love of hand lettering.

Cymone is a full-time brand designer, part-time freelance lettering artist, and sometimes photographer based in Nashville. Since 2013 she has collaborated with amazing clients (see Netflix, the Elizabeth Warren Campaign, Cosmopolitan, and Random House) –creating custom lettering artwork for established brands, books, apparel, and much more. She is fiercely passionate about producing meaningful and long-lasting work, drawing inspiration from the black experience. In her spare time she enjoys ~pretending~ she’s super outdoorsy, and laughing with friends around bonfires. She doesn’t enjoy running but does it a lot anyway.

Gabriela Namie is a Brazilian designer and art director based in New York. She currently works as an art director at Google (YouTube Music). Before this, she co-founded Barca Studio in São Paulo and was a Senior designer at Sagmeister & Walsh and &Walsh. In the past, she worked with brands like Spotify, Nespresso, Natura, Globo, Skol, etc. Her work was recognized by Form Magazine, Diagrama Podcast, Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial, Indigo Awards, A'Awards, etc.

Andrea is an illustrator and author who has a passion for creating images that reflect what she wants to see in art, media, and design. Her work has been featured in Essence Magazine, The New York Times, and O: The Oprah Magazine. She has worked with brands such as Bloomberg, Broadly, ESPN, The High Line, Lenny Letter, Lincoln Center, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Andrea is the author of: I Love My Hair; Becoming Me, and We Inspire Me. She also illustrated Young Gifted and Black and Step Into Your Power.
